Mathematics is often perceived as an abstract subject that is disconnected from students’ daily lives. However, mathematical concepts can actually be found in various cultural activities within society. One approach that can bridge mathematics and local wisdom is ethnomathematics. This study aims to explore the mathematical aspects found in the traditional game of pathilan and its potential as a culture-based mathematics learning medium. The study employed a qualitative method with a descriptive case study approach in grade V at SD Negeri Batok Bali. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was tested through source triangulation. The findings indicate that the pathilan game contains mathematical aspects such as addition and subtraction operations of whole numbers as well as geometric solid concepts. Addition appears when students count the number of sticks obtained, while subtraction is shown in determining the remaining sticks. In addition, the shape of the sticks represents cuboid and cylinder forms. Therefore, the pathilan game has the potential to become an ethnomathematics-based learning medium that is relevant to real life and meaningful for students.
