KORELASI KETERAMPILAN MEMBACA DENGAN GERAKAN LITERASI TERHADAP KEBIASAAN MENGULAS NOVEL PADA SISWA KELAS XI SMA MUHAMMADIYAH 1 BLITAR

Abstract

This article discusses the relationship between reading skills and the literacy movement on the habit of reviewing books for class XI students at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Blitar. The population in this study were students of class XI SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Blitar who were registered in the 2019/2020 school year, totaling 50 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of the total population of 50 students. There are three objectives in this research. First, it describes the reading skills of class XI students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Blitar. Second, describe the literacy movement towards the habit of reviewing novels by class XI students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Blitar. Third, describe the relationship between reading skills and literacy movements on the habit of reviewing novels in class XI SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Blitar. This type of research is quantitative with descriptive method. The design used in this study is a correlational design. The research data is in the form of scores from literacy activities on the habit of reviewing novels. The research instrument is an objective test to measure the level of reading skills and a performance test to measure literacy activities on the habit of reviewing novels. There are three results of this study. First, the reading ability of class XI students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Blitar is in good qualification (B). Second, the literacy movement towards the habit of reviewing novels for class XI students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Blitar is in very good qualification (A). Third, reading skills have a significant relationship with the literacy movement on the habit of reviewing novels for class XI students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Blitar by 82%, while the resst is 18%.
