Abstract
This study aims to increase motivation and learning activities of English. This research is a classroom action research. The subjects in this study were the second semester students of class B, totaling 31 people. Data collection techniques through questionnaires and observation. Data were analyzed through qualitative and quantitative descriptive. The results showed that research through running dictation can increase motivation and learning activities. Student learning motivation increased from 45.15% in the first cycle, increased to 83.86% in the second cycle with good category. Learning activities also increased from the first cycle with an average value of 61.43 to 83.1 with a good category in the second cycle.
