Abstract
This classroom action research was conducted to improve social studies learning motivation in grade IV SDK Paupire students. The action taken is to apply the Role Playing method. The data collection techniques used in this study were questionnaires and observations. The results showed that there was an increase in social studies learning motivation, namely from 28.6% pre-action, increasing to 78.6% at the end of the first cycle and after the second cycle it increased to 100%. The conclusion of this research is that role playing method is effective in increasing student motivation.
