Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Please read the Mitra Mahajana: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat guidelines and follow these instructions carefully. Manuscripts not adhering to the instructions will be returned for revision without review. The Chief Editor reserves the right to return manuscripts that are not prepared by these guidelines.

Authors must submit articles via online submission.

Mitra Mahajana: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat, published by LPPM Universitas Flores, is a journal that contains scientific articles on the results of studies on the application of science and technology to stakeholders in the fields of environmentally friendly Education, Law, Economics, Humanities, Engineering, Agriculture and Information Technology.

How to prepare a manuscript?

All manuscripts should describe original research which has not been reported or submitted elsewhere. Please send an original and soft copy of the manuscript to the editorial office.

Manuscript Format

  1. The manuscript is written in 11-point Cambria font 1.5 spaced on A4 paper. The margin on all four sides is 2.5 cm.
  2. The following word processing file formats are acceptable for major manuscript documents for all: Microsoft Word (DOC, DOCX) and rich text format (RTF) no larger than 3MB in size.
  3. The following formats are for image files: Make sure the artwork file is in an acceptable format (TIFF, EPS or MS Office file) and with the correct resolution. Make sure each illustration has a title. Caption text is provided separately, not attached to the image. The caption should consist of a short title (not on the image itself) and a description of the illustration. Keep the text in the illustration itself to a minimum, but explain all symbols and abbreviations used. Multiple numbers can be expressed as a single number (e.g. 1a, 1b, 1c etc...), while still maintaining a maximum limit of 6.
  4. The text must be in a single-column format. Keep the text layout as simple as possible. Most of the formatting code will be removed and replaced while processing the article.
  5. The page number is located at the top right.
  6. Figures and Tables placed in the manuscript (integrated with the whole manuscript).

The parts of the manuscript are written in this order, namely:

  1. TITLE
  2. ABSTRACT
  3. INTRODUCTION
  4. MATERIAL AND METHODS
  5. RESULT AND DISCUSSION
  6. CONCLUSION
  7. ACKNOWLEDGMENT (if any)
  8. REFERENCES

Title and Authors

The title is an opportunity to attract the reader’s attention. Remember that readers are the potential authors who will cite your article. Identify the main issue of the paper. Begin with the subject of the paper. The title should be accurate, unambiguous, specific and informative. It should be written clearly and concisely describing the contents of the research. Avoid abbreviations and formulas where possible.

Author(s) name(s) and affiliation(s)

A manuscript has the main author and co-authors with the full name of the author and co-authors (no abbreviation) and includes an address (es) and email addresses. Each address should be preceded by a numerical superscript corresponding to the same superscript after the name of the author concerned. Give an asterisk (*) in the contact person for correspondence.

Abstract

The English version of the abstract is written in English in the past tense. Abstract written using Cambria 9pt, spaced 1, Italic, with text length not more than 300 words. The abstract briefly describes the background, objectives, implementation methods, results and conclusions. 

Keywords: in alphabetical order, consisting of 3-5 words

Keywords are the labels of your manuscript and are critical to correct indexing and searching. Keywords should not be more than 5 words or phrases in alphabetical order which has not been used in the title. Therefore the keywords should represent the content and highlight of your article. Use only those abbreviations that are firmly established in the field. e.g. DNA.

INTRODUCTION

The introduction is written in Cambria 11pt, 1.5 spacing. The introduction contains the background, problems, problem-solving plans and the activities' objectives. The introduction must convey that the contents of the text are to support the application of science and technology to stakeholders in one or several fields of environmentally friendly agriculture, food, nutrition and public health. Activity objectives contain indicators of activity success that can be measured. Manuscripts are presented narratively (without numbering in front of the subtitles), and exposure in the form of subtitles is avoided.

METHODS

Materials and Methods are written in Cambria 11pt, Spacing 1.5. The method describes in detail the types/designs of activities carried out, the place and time of implementation, methods and implementation steps, and measurement of success indicators to monitor and evaluate the implementation of activities.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

Results and discussion are written in Cambria 11pt font, 1.5 spacing and must be written in the same part. They should be presented continuously, starting from the main result to the supporting results and equipped with a discussion. This section must show the acuity of the analysis and synthesis carried out critically, including a description of the findings of the work that discusses incisive answers to the research hypothesis, its relation to previous concepts or theories, compares them critically with the work of others, and corroborates or corrects to the previous findings. The unit of measurement used should follow the prevailing international system. All figures and tables should be active and editable by an editor. The discussion should explore the significance of the results of the work. Please highlight the differences between your results or findings and the previous publications by other researchers. Explain and describe:

  1. Terms of models (for services, new skills, and socio-cultural engineering), dimensions and specifications (for goods/equipment) that become the main output or focus of activities that are used as solutions provided to the community, either directly or indirectly.
  2. Documentation relevant to services or goods as the main output or focus of the Community Service Center (PkM) activities includes photos, tables, graphs, charts, pictures, and so on. Each documentation must be given a discussion explaining the products/activities carried out in the documentation.
  3. The advantages and disadvantages of the output or the main focus of the activity when viewed in terms of its suitability with the conditions of the community at the location of PCM activities.
  4. The level of difficulty in implementing activities (training, mediation and consultation, education and advocacy) as well as in the production of goods and opportunities.

Figures must be guaranteed to be printed clearly, and resolution and line size (graphics) must be sure to be printed clearly. Figures/tables/diagrams/schematics should be placed in columns between groups of text, or if they are too large, they should be placed in the middle of the page.

 

CONCLUSION

The conclusion is written in Cambria 11pt, Spacing 1.5. Contains a summary of the implementation of activities and the achievement of success indicators according to the activity's objectives. Suggestions (if any) are made based on the implications of the conclusions. The number of conclusion words is not more than 100 words.

 

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT (IF ANY)

Acknowledgements are written in Cambria 11pt, Spacing 1.5. The author expresses his gratitude to the funder of the activity (if there is a contract number, it can be included as the year of acquisition). Acknowledgements can also be addressed to parties who play an important role in carrying out activities and making articles. 

 

REFERENCES

Reference is written in Times New Roman 11pt, Spacing 1. Writing the bibliography using a reference management application (such as Mendeley, Endnote, Zotero, etc.) with the American Psychological Association (APA) 6th edition system. Only the libraries referenced in the text are listed in the bibliography. Minimum 20 bibliographies provided that 80% come from primary sources in the last ten years. All references mentioned must be written in the order of references arranged from A to Z.

Cocoa is one of the functional foods in Madiun (Ariyantoro et al., 2019). The research results of Widodo et al. (2019) require an environmentally friendly approach to prevent bad pollution, which is done by increasing public awareness and business people in managing liquid waste by creating an integrated wastewater treatment system.

A Copyeditor will be assigned to work in the copyediting stage that intended to improve the flow, clarity, grammar, wording, and formatting of the article. Then, a Layout Editor will be assigned to prepare the galley PDF for online publication. To ensure a fast publication process of the article, we kindly ask authors to provide us with their proofreading corrections within three days. Corresponding authors will receive an e-mail with a link to our online proofing system [Proofreading Request by Author], allowing annotation and correction of proofs online.

 

Declaration and Verification of Submissions

Submission of an article implies that the described work has not been previously published (except in abstract form or as part of a published lecture or academic thesis or as an electronic preprint) and that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. The author agrees that the manuscript will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or any other language, including electronically without the written consent of the copyright holder.
