Prima Magistra: Jurnal Ilmiah Kependidikan is a scientific journal that publishes articles on research and studies from Lecturers, Researchers, Teachers, and Students worldwide. The focus and scope of articles published by Prima Magistra: Jurnal Ilmiah Kependidikan are the results of research and studies on: Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Higher Education (Elementary School Teacher Education, Elementary Education (S2 and S3)), Character Education based on Religious Education, Character Education based on Pancasila and Citizenship Education, Non-formal Education, Informal Education, Education for Children with Special Needs, and Entrepreneurship Education.

Initially, Prima Magistra: Jurnal Ilmiah Kependidikan was published twice a year in April and October. Starting in 2022, it will be published quarterly (four times a year) in January, April, July, and October.
